Women’s Senior Squad
The Women’s Squad
The Women’s Senior Squad trains and races at a highest club level, targeting strong results at prestigious events such as WEHoRR and Henley Women’s Regatta. We also love getting out to smaller local events. Offering both sweep and sculling, we’re a committed, ambitious and friendly squad.
About the Squad
The City of Oxford Women’s Squad is open to experienced rowers who want to train and race at a strong club level as part of a committed, friendly squad. We’re a mixed‑age group, from students to long‑standing athletes, all working towards shared goals and enjoying the sport together. We offer both sweep and sculling, supported by an experienced volunteer coaching team.
Our season runs from September through to WEHoRR, before moving into regatta season with a focus on qualifying competitive crews for Henley Women’s Regatta, and where possible Henley Royal Regatta and Vets Head. Alongside these targets, we also enjoy getting out to smaller local and fun regattas over the summer. Each spring we head away on an Easter training camp, most recently in Peterborough, which gives us valuable water time and a chance to train together intensively.
Training is designed to work around jobs and studies, with most sessions on weekday evenings and weekends. We look for athletes who are committed, team‑spirited, and happy to support a volunteer‑run club, while pushing their own performance within a supportive and ambitious squad.
If you’re an experienced rower, cox or coach interested in joining, please contact womens.captain@oxfordrowingclub.org.uk or get in touch via the CORC Women’s Instagram page.
