CORC Masters compete at FISA World Masters Regatta

This was held at scenic Lake Bled in Slovenia – a beautiful location although the lake was definitely not the flat water they advertised. Nearly 5,000 rowers from countries as far away as Australia and US and a large European contingent competed for their clubs in 8 lane races (the biggest multilane event either of us have ever seen).

5 days of racing saw us competing in a number of events, teaming up with rowers from Abingdon RC, Ross RC and Norway. Although we didn’t secure a win, we managed virtually every other placing between us (2,3,4,5,6 and 8!!). It was a great experience, well organised and a chance to see some top class masters racing.

We are now planning our next international event – Euro Masters Regatta from the 26-29 July 2018 in Munich and if we can get a larger group of CORC masters rowers to go that would be great. Remember masters starts at 27 so many of the senior squad rowers are eligible and it is just after the Henley season.
